Love Yourself - Self Care 101

Taking care of yourself, should be your number one priority. The road to self-love is difficult and painful, but it is the most rewarding trip you will ever take.

People often turn their noses up at the thought of self-love, as if it's a little silly and self-indulgent. However, one of the most powerful and significant things you can do in life is to learn to love yourself. Your heart is your strength, and becoming the source of love in your own life transforms your existence. When you start to love yourself, your relationships, career, and health all bloom.

Relaxing hot showers, soothing baths, scented candles, a cup of coffee or glass of wine while reading your favorite book, going for a jog, selecting clothes you like, treating yourself to a spa day, and nice food are all examples of self-love. However, self-love is more than just pampering oneself.

Is loving ourselves defined by the ability to look in the mirror without judging our own bodies? Is loving oneself finally allowing you to be comfortable with your current situation? Is it possible to feel pleased for both yourself and others when we accomplish achievement if we love ourselves? Is it true that liking ourselves entails speaking and thinking well about ourselves? Is it possible to love ourselves by listening to our wants and putting ourselves first?

While we all know how vital it is to love oneself, we find that the hardest part for most individuals is figuring out how to do it.

Self-love is an ongoing process that will never be fully realized. There will always be ways for me to improve, learn, and demonstrate kindness to myself and others.

And, in the spirit of self-kindness, I always need to be reminded that, yes, I am horribly imperfect in many ways, but that is what makes me human, and I still deserve love.

I'm still working on loving myself and discovering and living my truth. I can honestly say that I love myself today more than before, and I am confident that I will continue to do so in the future.

What's most important, no matter where I am in the self-love process, is to remember...

I am enough.
